John Engel Consulting provides unique customized solutions to help Canadian insurance brokerages respond to the challenges of today’s p&c insurance market.

Process System Improvement (PSI) Plan

John has the expertise and capability to review all aspects of your business including Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, Personal Group Insurance, as well as management and administrative functions. A typical review focuses on, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Validating that staff are performing within the defined job description and that workloads are appropriate for each job function;
  • Analyzing processes extensively to ensure their effectiveness;
  • Recommending (if necessary) workflow process improvements and staff level changes;
  • Conducting communications audits to ensure effective communications to both internal (staff) and external (clients) audiences.

Technology Review

Using his extensive information technology background, John reviews your current technology platforms to ensure proper utilization and maximum benefit. The goal is to maximize existing technologies to better serve brokerage needs.

Sales Strategy

John provides assistance to the brokerage in establishing and/or refining its sales strategy including the sales culture, objectives and productivity.

Communications Audit

John Engel Consulting can conduct an extensive communications audit to determine the strengths and weaknesses of your current internal and external communications strategy. The audit will identify the following:

  • Your key audiences and what they mean to your business;
  • How past communications have been handled;
  • What your current audiences know about your business, service, product or organization;
  • What they need and want to know and how they prefer to be reached;
  • Untapped opportunities for future communications.

Strategic Planning

Utilizing his broad understanding of the insurance industry and the broker distribution channel, John provides Strategic Planning assistance to help establish short-term, annual or long-term objectives that will provide opportunities for growth and/or expense reduction.
